There are numerous hair curling wands out there. Some work better than others. Below I will describe the curlers that I think are the best. Of course, there are many different products out there that might work great. This is just what has worked for me really well.

I have thick hair that likes to drop fast. In addition, I also seem to be getting frizz now that my baby was born. No idea why, but I do know that hair changes somewhat after a baby.

I have absolutely no problems keeping the curls after these products below. Let me know your thoughts in the comments box below.

I will make another post on the different ways to create various types of curls. Here I will just discuss my favorite curling wands that I like to use.

NuMe Magic Wand 32 mm

NuMe Magic Wand 32 mm is my number one favorite tool. It is, unfortunately, quite expensive. However, I’ve had mine for over four years and I have yet to regret it. It really works. It really delivers.

There are many sizes that this company offers. The 32mm is the one I recommend because it is not too wide and not too small. Your curls come out looking fabulous. I can’t stress enough just how much I love this product.

The reason I like this one over all other NuMe wands is because it has 100% titanium barrel. This thing heats up to very high degrees.  In my opinion, there is not a curling wand that is stronger than this one and makes the curls last as long.

Magic Wand – the barrel of this version is made from pure titanium. This curler heats up to 450F and is designed for thick hair that have a hard time keeping the curl.

NuMe Classic Curling Wand

NuMe Classic Curling Wand is my second favorite curling wand to go to. This one is not as expensive as the first one above. I still recommend getting the first option, but if you can’t this would be my second go-to option. The Classic curler won’t disappoint.

The reason I really personally like NuMe products is because of all the curlers that I have tried out there, NuMe really does deliver. You get salon quality curls that look and feel gorgeous. Not only that, but you also can create a million variations that I will discuss in a different post.

Classic Wand – this version is made from tourmaline ceramic. This one heats up to 410F and is designed for fine, dry hair.

Remington Pro Curling Wand

Remington Pro Curling Wand creates perfect large, loose curls. It is a professional curling wand, as well as the NuMe ones. If you like big curls, this product won’t disappoint you. It also comes with the heat glove already included.

The curler heats up to 410F at its max.

Bed Head Curlipops Curling Wand for Loose Curls

Bed Head Curlipops Curling Wand for Loose Curls does just that: it gives you nice loose curls. This curler is perfect for neither thin or thick hair. It will help your hair to keep its curl regardless of what kind of hair you have. The wand heats up to one heat temperature and doesn’t have options for you to pick from.

The glove that is included is not the best kind of glove. I recommend getting the one I show at the end of this post. The included glove in this product is not comfortable and does not really help you with heat resistance.

Hot Tools 1" Salon Curling Iron/ Wand Extra-Long Barrel - 24k Gold, 1.55 Pound

Hot Tools 1″ Salon Curling Iron/Wand Extra-Long Barrel – 24k Gold, 1.55 Pound is literally magic in gold wrapping. It is lightweight and heats up very quickly. The price is very affordable and this wand really delivers. You can also use it as a flat iron, but I find that it is much easier to use it for curls.

Another wonderful feature of this wand is that you can really give yourself just gentle curls at the tips of your hair (like the picture below). Sometimes, you don’t want the curls to be more than just a hint. When I feel like styling just the tips of my hair – this is the curler I go to. You can use the flap (as I call it) instead of the barrel. That way you can gently curve the tips of your hair for a natural wave.

If you want an actual curl, this tool also works great. It heats up to 430F which is really great for either thick or coarse hair. For fine and dry hair, just set it up to lower temperature.

The Heat Glove

This heat glove is perfect to use with all your hot hair tools like curlers, dryers, flat irons and others. It is professional and fits either right or left hand. It allows you to really grab your hair tips during curing and hold them while your hair is absorbing the heat.

  1. I never knew there were so many types! My problem is that the curls never seem to last the day, no matter how much hairspray I use. I guess my hair just ain’t suited to be curly/wavy.

    1. Hi,
That might be because you use low heat and you need to use high heat. Also, if you have thick hair then you need a wand that will heat up to at least 430F. Anything below 430 won’t make it last. You also need to use hairspray on top of that to lock the curl in. If your hair is heavy, it will fall regardless because of its own weight. I recommend Dove hairspray because it is very gentle but really holds. I use the Dove Max Hold one. Let me know how it works for you. Don’t be afraid to try!

  2. I have always had a hard time curling my hair because no curling wand seems to be powerful enough. I always end up with flat hair after half an hour, unless I use the hair straightener to make curls. I would give the Magic Wand a try, see if it makes magic on my hair.

    1. Hi Joanna,
It depends on your hair. IF you have thick hair you need a wand that will heat up to at least 430. I personally use 450 and it really works. Just make sure you don’t hold it on for any more than a few seconds if you are using the 450. It is safer to stay in the 430 range. NuMe Magic Wand will do the trick. It lasts me over 3 days.

    1. Hi Sara,
I am glad I could help! That is why I am here. Let me know how it works for you when you try it. Don’t be afraid to try them.

  3. Great review of products. I used to curl my hair all the time when I was younger but now I have short hair. It’s amazing all the different curling wands that are available today!

  4. I’ve never heard of this Remington pro before, but it sounds like something I would use regularly due to the wonderful use for my hair. I’ll definitely have to check it out now.

  5. This looks and sounds great. I am so much more concerned with my hair now than I used to be. So important to have these best hair curling wands.

  6. My hair is naturally wavy, though I do straighten it sometimes. These sound like great wands and this list will be really helpful for people in the market for a curling wand.

    1. Hi Criselle,
Of course, I am very glad I could help. Yes, I highly recommend NuMe. You won’t be disappointed with them. Truly professional tools. I love them.
